@Live Fully in Your Season: The Three Times of Man
There is a timeless wisdom in Yoruba thought that every human life dances through three sacred seasons — Òwúrọ̀ (Morning), Òsán (Afternoon), and Ìrọ̀lẹ́ (Evening). These are not merely times of the day. They are reflective metaphors, symbolic mirrors of the human journey through destiny. To understand them is to see life with deeper eyes and walk with intentionality on the road of fulfilment.
Morning is not just when the sun rises. It is the season of becoming, a sacred space where innocence meets opportunity. From birth to around the age of thirty, the child grows, learns, falls, rises, discovers, and questions. The roots are stretching, even when fruits are not yet visible. This is the time for sharpening skills, choosing values, and aligning with the whispers of your Orí — your divine head. Those who ignore their morning often chase shadows in the afternoon.
Afternoon time shines with the heat of expectations. Spanning roughly from thirty-one to sixty, this is the season of expression. Whatever was planted in the morning begins to bear fruit. Ideas become institutions. Dreams become movements. Family, career, leadership, wealth, and service reach for maturity. It is the peak of purpose and productivity. The world watches closely in the afternoon to see if your potential will become performance. Decisions weigh heavier here, for impact or regret. This is the phase where your name starts to echo, either in honour or in emptiness.
Evening is not an end, it is a summing up. From sixty onward, the elder steps into the hallowed halls of legacy. This is the time to share wisdom, preserve values, and give meaning to the path already walked. You are no longer running; you are raising others to run. The evening season is the most spiritual — a time of storytelling, soul-searching, and passing the baton. Those who maximized their morning and manifested their afternoon, sit on thrones of peace in the evening.
There is no shortcut through time. Each season matters. Each season demands attention. Youth must never despise the day of small beginnings. Adulthood must not squander the hours of strength. Old age must not retire from the call of legacy.
Let every young man and woman rise early. Let every adult burn wisely. Let every elder shine gently. Your life is not random. Your destiny is unfolding through divine seasons.
You are not too young to prepare. You are not too old to begin. You are not too late to matter.
The times of man are divine clocks. Use yours well.
Yours in fulfilment,
