@The Power Around Power

 @The Power Around Power

Power rarely walks alone; it is constantly surrounded by voices that shape its direction, sometimes more than the seat-holder ever realizes. The wife often becomes the unseen compass of the home, quietly steering her husband’s thinking and household decisions; trusted executives stand at the elbow of Presidents, Governors and Chairmen, filtering counsel that can lift or ruin an administration; certain employees gain rare access to influence their bosses; parents lean on mature children whose insight they respect; and some teachers become so indispensable that principals defer to their judgment — all demonstrating that closeness to authority is itself a form of power.

This hidden power must never remain ignorant, shallow or self-serving, because guidance without wisdom becomes dangerous advice. When those in vantage positions fail to arm themselves with sound knowledge, broad perspective and moral clarity, they risk nudging leaders toward narrow interests, emotional responses or ill-considered actions that damage families, organizations and entire communities. Influence, when poorly exercised, plants seeds of societal setbacks and personal regret that outlive the moment of decision.

True empowerment for those around power lies in disciplined learning, deep reflection and ethical grounding that prioritize the collective good over personal gain. Exposure to relevant information, balanced judgment, and the courage to speak truth respectfully are essential tools for shaping decisions that build rather than break, heal rather than hurt, and advance rather than reverse progress.

Influence must therefore be treated as a sacred trust rather than a private advantage. Those privileged to guide the powerful carry responsibility not only to the leader they advise but to every life touched by the outcomes of those decisions. When proximity to authority is matched with wisdom, integrity and compassion, counsel becomes a force for shared growth — a silent engine driving families, institutions and nations toward genuine fulfilment rather than future remorse.
