@A New International Responsibility: Representing Nigeria Through Education And Technology




I am deeply grateful to announce my appointment as Deputy Country Director - Nigeria - of The Edventure International, an international EdTech organisation committed to advancing technology in education practice, online learning and professional development. This appointment is not merely another line on my résumé; it is another responsibility placed upon my shoulders to serve, connect, represent and contribute. I receive it with gratitude, humility and a profound awareness that every international platform occupied by a Nigerian is also an opportunity to tell the Nigerian story differently—through competence, character, service and excellence.


This appointment comes on the heels of three other international recognitions received within the past year: Global Academic Member of MyKnowledgeFlow; Council Member, Accreditation Council of the International Teachers Association, Bristol, United Kingdom; and Fellow, Future Leaders and Mentorship Fellowship of the American Society for Microbiology, United States of America. Across these platforms, the common thread has not been the accumulation of titles, but the convergence of my lifelong commitments to education, science, leadership, mentorship, technology and human development. Today, The Edventure adds another important dimension: EdTech and the transformation of educational practice through technology. For me, these appointments increasingly represent a bridge between the laboratory and the classroom, between local service and global engagement, and between Nigerian talent and international opportunity.


Yet, I understand that the significance of this appointment must travel beyond me. When a Nigerian is entrusted with responsibility on an international platform, Nigeria travels with that Nigerian. How we speak, how we serve, how we collaborate, how we honour commitments and how we deliver results can either strengthen or diminish the confidence others place in our country. This is therefore also about the larger Nigerian education ecosystem: creating stronger connections between Nigerian learners and global opportunities, connecting educators with professional development, encouraging responsible adoption of educational technology, opening doors for institutions and demonstrating that Nigeria possesses educators, scholars and professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to global conversations. In its own modest way, educational engagement can become a form of people-to-people diplomacy—building bridges where governments alone cannot.


I accept this appointment with a solemn promise: I will represent Nigeria well in the community of nations. I will carry our flag not merely with pride, but with responsibility; not merely with words, but with work. May this platform become another channel through which knowledge crosses borders, opportunities reach our young people, Nigerian educators connect with the world, and the world encounters more reasons to believe in the possibilities within Nigeria. I am grateful for the trust. I am ready for the work. The journey continues—not for the glory of a title, but for the fulfilment of a responsibility.
